Grief Circle #7.5

Wed, Aug 25 @ 6:30 pm Pacific Time

Each Grief Circle centers around 3 prompts. Grief Circle attendees are invited to share their prompt responses through poetry, story, or art. We find transformational healing when we have the space to come together and speak directly about our grief.

While all Grief Circles center around grief, this one in particular provides space for the newly grieved. Those with older grief are invited to come too, always and of course. As with recent Grief Circles, I feel so proud that the people who come often mother one another.

I usually try with the last prompt, to offer something joyful. But sometimes, the most comforting thing is simply the recognition that in this moment, and possibly many moments going forwards, there won't be much comfort.

These prompts provide space for that.

INVITATION:

I'll share my own answers through story or poetry & invite anyone who would like to share their story to offer their voice through STORY / THOUGHT / POEM / SONG / AN ART FORM.

There'll be time for ~2-3 people per prompt.

PROMPTS:

  • I'm not ready for my grief

  • That question disoriented me

  • I recognize that tree (and yet, I'm still [insert your own emotion]) / or I've never seen that tree before in my life

TICKET TIERS:

  • Free Ticket: $0

  • Sliding Scale Ticket: $1 - $34

  • Standard Ticket: $35

NOTE & RESOURCES:

Because the prompts can get into sensitive territory, please note I am an artist, and not a mental health professional. When sharing, honor where you are, and only share what you are ready to share, and that which is safe and life giving for you.

These Grief Circles have been running since Feb 2021.

Resources and the Grief Circle’s Guiding Principles can be found on my homepage.
