Bathe Here

Commemorative Gift

Euda commissioned this piece for a friend who’s young son recently passed away. It was an honor to have been entrusted with this gift.

I wrote this poem to accompany the visual work:

Our love melts the snow off winter’s branches
Even the sun and the stars come to bath here in rest

I am with you in every season
My smile in the turning of the leaves

Illustrating 14 portraits through to the end of 2020 at no cost, this piece was created through my series celebrating the beauty, diversity, and soulfulness of Black women to counter the message sent through the decision of Breonna Taylor’s case. Donations were accepted with funds going towards the ventures of Black women artists, creators, entrepreneurs, and organizations.

Funds are reported on my Rise Together page.
